Position Available: Sourcing Manager

Times Microwave Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Sourcing Manager to be based in the headquarters facility in Wallingford, CT. A highly strategic supply chain management position that requires a dynamic individual to develop and manage the supply chain. This includes attaining the overall objectives of best product quality, competitive cost, flexibility and assurance of supply.

The Sourcing Manager leads the total supply chain effort to support 3 manufacturing locations in North America and coordinate a team based in Shanghai.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong working relationships with key suppliers
  • Driving direct material cost savings across various commodities: machined electro-mechanical components, plastic resins and engineered wire products
  • Pursue cost savings opportunities related to indirect spend including MRO items
  • Challenge and justify all price changes, both increases and surcharges
  • Work jointly with the Purchasing Manager to develop an overall supply chain strategy and manage the Approved Vendor List (AVL)
  • Negotiate and implement long term Supply Agreements for high spend and/or critical products
  • Coordinate large RFQ packages to support annual and multi-year government contracts
  • Interface with Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier related quality issues
  • Investigate problems, complete root cause analysis, and assist in developing solutions for supply chain problems
  • Compile reports and metrics related to supplier spend, quality, delivery and overall performance
  • Perform regular site audits of existing and candidate suppliers
  • Manage communications with the supply base regarding compliance initiatives including: REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, ITAR Regularly meet with Supplier Representatives; Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with Key Suppliers
  • Increase dock-to-stock system usage
  • Utilize personal and supplier expertise to recommend and implement product changes (improved manufacturability, etc.) through Engineering
  • Review drawing packages and obtain quotations for prototype, ramp up and full production
  • Attend new program meetings to provide supply chain strategy input
  • Enforce and uphold the Company’s ethics policy regarding conflicts of interest, gifts, entertainment, illegal practices, bribes and gratuities


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.  Finance, Operations/Supply Chain Management or a technical discipline is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years operations or supply chain experience
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Presence and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, suppliers and senior management
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated to be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinker who can draw sound business conclusions from multiple sources of information
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High level of computer literacy.  Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite.  Experience with ERP software (Oracle preferred)
  • Experience with supplier audits
 

20-25% travel

Position Available: Engineering Intern

Times Microwave Systems, Inc. is currently recruiting for an Engineering Intern to be based in the headquarters facility in Wallingford, CT.

Candidate will participate in 5S Workplace Management implementation in a high performance aerospace manufacturing environment as well as hermetic glass-to-metal seal manufacturing and stainless steel laser welding process improvements.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior year student matriculated into Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Data entry of process information and analysis of process capability baseline
  • Measure and store electronic performance data for major military program process standards
  • Design, procure, implement storage system for process raw material stock
  • Research and implement and improved conveyer belt system
  • Identify and implement 5S and Lean Manufacturing system components
  • Process refinements to laser welding process
  • Process refinements to glass firing process
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated to be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinker who can draw sound technical conclusions from multiple sources of information
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High level of computer literacy. Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with 3D Cad software a plus
